Craftsman House Plan

Craftsman style house plans originated in the earlier Arts and Crafts movement which dates back to the 1860's. This movement emphasized "hand made" over "mass produced" and was a reaction against the over-decorated aesthetic of the Victorian era. With these house plans you will see not only a functional house plan but also a work of art with characteristics such as low gentle sloping roofs, usually one story  high with attics and dormers.  Craftsman house plans also feature wide eaves above a deep porch and typically square pillars.
